Fellow Educators: Welcome to Wiki-Ed, my teaching, education resource and portfolio site!

I am a B.ed student at St.Thomas University in Fredericton. I completed my undergrad in English with honors in Great Ideas at STU also, as well as received a diploma in TESL from University of New Brunswick. I have spent the last two years teaching EAL at a private language school at the Charlotte Street Art Center, tutoring at the UNB Mik'maq Maliseet Institute bridging year program and program leading at the Boys and Girls club. I am also greatly involved in my Church community where I have been the youth coordinator for the past three years. My goal is to teach Social Studies, English and possibly EAL at the middle/Secondary levels. My heart is for grade 8. Thirteen is a very tumultuous time is an adolescences life. I'm looking to soften the blow of coming of age and equip them for the tools necessary to forge onward as individual and critical thinkers into there young adult futures. With instruction in conjunction with relationship educators have the opportunity to empower whole generations of students who are not the future leaders of tomorrow, but the major leaders and influencers of today.

Beyond English and Social studies I have an affinity for fine arts and seek to inject the traditional subject areas with visual arts, drama, and music.

I live in Fredericton with my husband Ryan who is in his last year of Electrical Engineering. We like to drink tea and coffee, read books and people watch at downtown cafes. We are also planning to one day live off the power grid or in an intentional community.
